Company Description

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 700 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation. We train personnel in Swedish nuclear power, deliver nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develop and execute projects and assignments, and provide internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and support, analysis leadership and investigations, product development, and nuclear technical safety and dam safety assignments. The focus within the business unit Vattenfall Power Solutions is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and competence create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

Do you want to be the Group Manager who helps build a new group with both project and technical competencies focused on Hydropower?

We are now looking for a manager with the assignment to lead and build an entirely new group. The operations are facing a clear expansion phase and will be developed to deliver services within the competence areas of Construction, Concrete, Mechanical & Process, and Electrical & I&C. Initially, during the setup phase, you will also participate in projects/assignments, gradually reducing your involvement as the group grows.

Vattenfall Power Solutions plays a central role in Vattenfall's operations by providing both project and technical competence in areas such as Hydropower, new and existing nuclear power, as well as decommissioning and waste issues. The operations are characterized by high demands for safety, quality, and technical competence in a society-critical context.

As Group Manager, you have a central role in:

  • Building, developing, and scaling up the group in line with the operations' needs.
  • Actively working to establish and develop long-term collaborations with our cooperation partners and customers.
  • Leading, developing, and engaging employees within the group.
  • Ensuring the right competence, good working environment, and goal achievement.

The group is expected to eventually consist of approximately 15–20 employees.

We know that our employees are the key to our success. Your development is important to us, and therefore we will always encourage you to use your knowledge and give you opportunities to develop through new challenges, training, and knowledge transfer. Here, you are trusted to act with great freedom and personal responsibility, which, combined with good working conditions and mutual trust, provides high flexibility and balance between work and private life.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university or civil engineering degree in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
  • Documented experience of managerial or leadership roles in technical operations, for example within energy, process, or industrial operations.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).

The following are meritorious:

  • Competence in Construction, Concrete, Mechanical & Process, or Electrical & I&C.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Experience from Hydropower.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To succeed in the role, we see that you are a present and coaching leader who actively builds and develops trusting relationships, both within your own operations and in collaboration with external parties. You create engagement, promote cooperation, and have the ability to bring different stakeholders together around common goals. You have a strategic and business-oriented approach, are communicative and clear, and have a strong focus on working environment and sustainable deliveries. Your leadership is long-term and stable, with the ability to create development and sustainable results over time.

It is also important to us that your personal values align with our culture, which is characterized by our principles: Active, Open, Positive, and Safe.
